Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger is a global ministry that responds to food shortages and food insecurity in much of the developing world, and partners at the local level with communities, churches, and ministries to give an opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause.
On October 19th, 2024, the Shenandoah Baptist Association will host a food packaging event at Charles Town Baptist Church, where volunteers will pack, seal, and prepare for shipment ten thousand meals (yes, 10,000!) for distribution in areas of famine and shortage. The meals are a simple mixture of beans, soy, rice, and some flavoring, and can easily be mixed with water to provide a nutritious soup.
We are relying on volunteers from across the churches in our association, and we need your help. If you are willing to volunteer, please follow the link above to pre-register and acknowledge a liability waiver. Pre-registering gives us an idea of how many volunteers we might see, and will make the day of our event much smoother.
